The last of the backlog

This is the last of the unprocessed film I had lying around. I now have two unprocessed rolls from this weekend. I shall endeavor to develop them tonight (before Justified, of course!) and scan them tomorrow.

Kodax TMax

Another very old roll. This one was shot on Kodak TMax 400 ISO (with the Nikon) last Fall maybe? Sharon pointed out that the last couple of black & white sets seemed to be more shades of silver than shades of gray. I think that is due to the film (Arista in those two sets) and/or the developer (Rodinal). I don’t think the silver is necessarily bad, but the shading does seem more likely than the TMax to go flat.

Christmas in Color

Christmas

I’m hoping to have color photos of ornaments on Monday, but we’ll see how that film turned out (picking it up tonight). I had to do some work to get these to work at all.

It’s Been So Long I Barely Remember How to Do This

I have instructions for developing film taped to the bathroom wall. When I developed this film, I actually had to look at them. I need to get out and shoot. This roll was taken a couple of months ago.

Mini Diana!

For my birthday, my brother gave me a Mini Diana (with flash). I haven’t used the flash yet, and obviously haven’t quite figured out focus (although I kind of suspect Diana, one of the powerhouses of the toy camera industry, such as it is, hasn’t quite figured it out either). But here are some photos from the first roll.

This is a double image — the fireplace does not belong in the chicken coop!

Finally! Photos!

I know, I know. I now have a fairly large backlog to show you, so this space should be active for the next week or so. Probably more, I have a couple of black and white rolls to develop. For now, though, color. These were taken with the Mamiya using Kodak Portra 160VC, obviously back when there were a few leaves and some green.

Remember me?

I know. It’s been a really long time. Let’s not dwell on that, m’k?

It was my birthday recently and I got a camera I have been lusting after for some time: A Fuji Instax Mini. Isn’t it cool looking? By the way, my brother asked me recently if I thought a Canon’s latest something or other (way over my head and price range for that matter) would be a good thing to buy. I had to laugh because my technical desires are devolving* as his are evolving.

*That isn’t entirely true, if some nice person wanted to buy me a Hassleblad, I would be most grateful.

Anyway. Here are some diptychs:

I need a little practice to figure out what lighting works best, but they’re pretty cute (the pictures are about the size of my drivers license). I already have an idea for another set of pictures, I just need more film (not a problem in digital, I am aware).
