Day 315. Begonia.

I’ve been trying to get a nice shot of this begonia all week. This one is fine, I think because it has lost some of its freshness, the camera has more obvious detail to focus on. The big issue has been getting the cute, curly stamen in focus, again, because this flower is not so fresh, the stamen are more distinct, whereas the nice fresh flower is harder to capture, as you can see here and here. I’m planning to try this on film, too, just to see if there is a difference.

Day 314. Still Life.

Strictly speaking, this isn’t really a still life (apparently a real still life is deliberately arranged for the purpose of painting or photography), but whatever. Note the moss. That is how freaking wet it is here in Michigan. I think there might be moss growing between my toes!

Day 311. Holga Sunday?

This is one of the better pictures I’ve managed to get of Emily in quite a while. Usually she looks surly, which is remarkably similar to my niece, Lauren. They are both 12 and suddenly they’re teenagers and incapable of smiling at a camera.

Day 310. Lily.

She’s a pretty, pretty dog, but quite dumb.

Day 309. Parking.

I haven’t picked up my film yet today and I’ll be off on Monday, and rather than leave you hanging I have a picture from first thing this morning. I don’t love the exposure (a bit too bright), but I like the composition rather a lot, I was going for something centered, symmetrical, and abstract.

Day 308. Red River.

I spent most of an evening processing Swiss Chard for freezing. I love the red veins.
