This one was hard to get the right angle — it’s only a couple of inches off the ground and while I don’t mind lying on the grass for a photo of a water can, I would really rather not sit on the city sidewalk. This one managed to be straight *and* have a nice exposure (it is cropped a bit).

A year or so ago, the Ann Arbor News was a victim of it’s owners’ inability to monetize the business. Or something. They remade it into a website/blogish sort of thing.

I took a ton of pictures yesterday, but it was so windy all but a few were in focus (this was on the ground and sheltered), which is a major issue with Macro.

This guy hangs out in this park, on one of the busiest intersections in town, and practices some sort of martial art, during rush hour. If that isn’t permission to take a picture, I don’t know what is.

I went to University of Michigan’s graduation on Saturday (despite only knowing one graduate). You may have heard of the speaker? None of my pictures of Obama came out all that well — it turns out that zooming in on a jumbo-tron does not make for crystal clear photos. In any case, I put a bunch of them up at Flickr (the link is to that set). The picture above is one of the more visually interesting photos I got.

I might be the only one totally amused by this theme, but hey, it’s my project.. Another shot of the blue building (Tower Plaza), this time with a crummy camera with built in vignette.

I’m posting this one because I really like the composition, but I don’t really get what is going on in the background. It’s ok at a smaller size but if you zoom in the grass gets all pixely.

It was incredibly hard to pick an image today (there will be more at Flickr). I’d already taken a bunch of pictures and was headed back inside when I decided to take a couple of quick shots of a dandelion growing out of our garden wall.
