Day 179. More Moss.

There are several patches of this in the back part of our yard. This is straight out of the camera.

Day 178. Broken Pots.

This is what happens if you leave your pots out for the winter, with dirt still in them. Too bad, I actually like this pot.

Day 177. Sign of Spring.

Our Forsythia is budding.

I put up a bunch of the Holga pictures in my Flickr stream. Some are more interesting than others..

Day 176. First Holga Picture.

The photo shop gave me back one long, uncut, negative, which I then scanned. There are possibilities here (pinpoint accuracy not being one of them), and I’m kind of excited to play more with this. I dropped off the black & white roll this morning and will have it back on Friday.

Day 171. Holga.

A couple of months ago my darling brother bought DSLR and I have been envious ever since*. However, I have just made a purchase which will, I’m sure, make him green. At 7.95 ounces (including strap and film), this finely tuned piece of…something…is all plastic (including the lens). It is all mechanical and take no batteries, if you forget to advance the film you get a double (or triple!) exposure and apparently it leaks light. Also, the viewfinder is mere inches away from the lens, so pictures are completely unpredictable. I’ll find out Wednesday how my first roll of film (120) came out. Jealous yet?

* Don’t tell him this, but that camera of his has really inspired him. His pictures are getting better and better, and it isn’t just improved technology. These are my favorites from last week alone: Red Skies at Night, The Straight and Narrow (I’m a sucker for abstracts and that staircase…dang!), and Self Portrait.
