Queen Anne’s Lace in winter isn’t exactly beautiful, but they are interesting. Both of these shots have some evidence of the developing problems I had.

This little camper has been tucked into the woods for years. Occasionally signs of life appear — children’s play equipment, laundry hung out to dry — but never people.

I have two rolls of film which I have developed, scanned and now need to be cleaned up (thanks to dust and cats), but I don’t have time just now so I am afraid you will just have make due with some pictures of ornaments.

‘Tis the season for candy canes!

I mean, it’s fine, nothing wrong with a fence post I always say (I’ve never said that), but my intention was for the structure in the background to be in focus as well. The day was overcast and I left the tripod in my car, so I was shooting pretty wide open (f/4 or f/5.6) so I could maintain a fast shutter speed. I had a choice between the fence and the building, so I went with the post. Next time I will use the tripod and also shoot this one in color, the structure has worn off red paint on it which I think will be nice in color.
