My Dad’s Morgan Got “Work” Done

The Huron Valley Corvette Club had a car show in Saline last month. My Dad took his baby to show off her new paint job along with other cosmetic surgery procedures, including the instrument board he made himself, the glove compartment with real flocking (no, I don’t know what means either but he was very excited about it so it is a Very Cool Thing).

Three Morgans

Dad and his Morgan cronies

It used to be red. These are handmade cars and there are no “official” factory colors, but he saw this combination at the factory when they visited last year.

Pretty, don’t you think? My dad made this.

Not sure why I felt the need to take a picture of the engine, but it might mean something to someone? To me it says, “Make car go.”

Lucas has a terrible reputation for reliability, thus “Prince of Darkness”.

This very lovely green Morgan smacked my dad’s car at the end of the show and caused some damage. I think she was jealous.

I’ll have some other cars tomorrow.

Some People Shouldn’t Be Allowed to Go on Vacation

Like the guy who develops your film (also certain public radio hosts). My intention was to post photos from my latest roll of film, but instead I’m going to offer up some digital photos. I really don’t mean to be so snotty about film vs. digital, but the instant gratification feels like cheating somehow. Because I am a nut*.

*Also, I live with a man who refuses to acknowledge any music not on vinyl LP. Maybe it’s something to do with the air in our house? We’re both nuts.

Pictures!

From the Kodak Brownie. These aren’t quite new — they are from Easter — but they were just developed so kind of new? I will have more starting tomorrow from the trusty Nikon.

Len and Niece

We went to Len’s mother’s for Easter and she requested that I bring my camera for a group photo (which I am not posting). While playing around with different spots to take said photo, I caught Len and his niece chatting. I found the series pretty amusing. And. Are you sitting down? These are digital. I know. Taken with my trusty old Canon Powershot S3 IS.

Old Greenhouse

The house across the street from us has a ruined greenhouse attached to it, I finally got over there to take pictures during the 5 minutes it was winter here at the end of February. When I first got over there, I didn’t think there was really anything to take pictures of, until suddenly I had used up one whole roll and part of another. These were taken on the Arista.EDU film (ISO 100) which has a strange silver tone.

Backyard

Two posts in one day. Yikes! I took these in my backyard* this past weekend. A bit more successful than the still lifes.

Huh. I just saw the “Insert Gallery” option, I think I like it for this many pictures.

* I find it hilarious that my brother just posted photos from Puerto Rico and I’m posting photos from my bedroom and backyard. Our lives are a little different.

Still Life

I’m not very good at these. Out of 12 shots these are what worked, more or less.

These were taken with the Mamiya, on Formapan film and developed for 7 minutes in Kodak D76.
